The toboggan is a sure bet for fun in the wintry nature park and glacier region. Feel the natural snow under the skids and the cold mountain air on your face. Surrounded by the Ötztal Alps, you and your loved ones will soon be flying high.

For those who don't have their own toboggan: you can rent one conveniently in Kaunertal and Fendels sports shops. The handy toboggan rental is a great deal, so there's nothing standing in the way of the next ride downhill...

Tobogganing at night as an extraordinary holiday experience

A special kind of experience is tobogganing at night. It's both huge fun for all generations or a great romantic break for two. The darkness gives the wintry Kaunertal a unique charm that you and your loved ones will love.

The best addresses for your nighttime tobogganing adventures in Tyrol:

  • Fendels: 4.5 km natural toboggan run, Fendels mountain lifts, quality seal, easily accessible by quad chairlift, Thursdays from 19:00 to 22:00, toboggan rental at the cable car station or Sport Schranz in Fendels
  • Feichten: family-friendly 2 km toboggan run to Ögg, lighted daily from 18:00 to 22:00, free


Secret tip? Top Ski School Kaunertal has its weekly tobogganing night Mondays from 20:30 in Feichten. Romantic torchlit hike with torches along the Ögg toboggan run. Rent a toboggan and get a cup of mulled wine for just € 5!

In the Tyrolean holiday valley, you can ski on two light and three medium natural toboggan runs through the snow-covered winter landscape. Short jaunt or just toboggan with the loved one to the bet? Different lengths of 1.3 to 3.6 kilometers make it possible!

Toboggan runs in Feichten

Natural toboggan run Ögg

You get to the starting point of this toboggan run by turning over the bridge at the Hotel Edelweiß, going up the mountain and then keeping left at the first junction. The toboggan run starts above Haus Almrausch. After a hike of approx. 2 km you reach the start of the toboggan run. This is where the 1.2 km long wonderful descent through a Tyrolean spruce forest begins. The toboggan run is illuminated daily until 10 p.m.

Natural toboggan run Verpeil

The winter hiking trail and the Verpeil natural toboggan run start past the Lärchenhof holiday hotel in Feichten. After a wonderful ascent you reach the start of the toboggan run.

Tip: Enjoy the view from the Adlerblick over the Kaunertal before you start.

Toboggan runs in Kaunerberg & Fendels

Natural toboggan run "Schnadiger Weiher" - Kaunerberg

This toboggan run is almost an insider tip for a romantic, snowy winter afternoon. It starts in Kaunerberg in the district of Falpaus. At the "Schnadiger Weiher" car park, start the ascent in the direction of the Aifner Alm. You walk along the snow-covered treetops up to approx. 1,800 m above sea level. After that you can enjoy a 3 km descent.

Natural toboggan run Fendels

The toboggan run in Fendels offers a special experience for the whole family. You can easily reach the starting point of the toboggan run with the Sattelbodenbahn. After a few minutes ride on the chair lift, the fun can begin. Lift operation open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The toboggan run has been awarded the quality seal for natural toboggan runs.

Tip: Night tobogganing on the Fendels winter mountain every Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. is particularly popular.
