Summer Mountain Fendels - the adventure mountain for families in Fendels at the entrance to the Kaunertal.
It's cosy and relaxed in Fendels. And yet it never gets boring! There is something for everyone here - it’s great for the little ones, of course, and the grown-ups get their money’s worth too.
The charming winter mountain changes into an equally appealing summer mountain in the warm season. Experience the natural Tyrolean landscape in Fendels on one of the many hikes from the mountain station of the quad chairlift.

You can experience a lot in Fendels with your loved ones! Take a trip from the mountain to the valley.
Soar high in the sky on the cable car
Float almost silently with the four-seater chairlift directly from the village of Fendels at 1,874 m above sea level to the Sattelklause mountain station and enjoy the natural Tyrolean landscape as you ascend.
By the way: with the Summercard GOLD and the Glacier Card you can use the cable cars in Fendels free of charge!

Mountain restaurant Sattelklause
Mum and Dad are relaxing comfortably on the sun terrace of the Sattelklause mountain restaurant, with their loved ones always within sight.
Big playground
Water - power - mountains. This motto is also a key focus at the Summer Mountain Fendels. But there’s no shortage of action and fun for the little ones either.

Around the Sattelklause
Forest bathing trail
The forest bathing trail also begins at the Sattelklause mountain restaurant and leads through a fragrant spruce forest towards Ochsenkopf. Enjoy the journey with all your senses - touch, feel, hear, smell. Follow the signs and immerse yourself in a well of nature. The way back on the forest bathing trail leads along the Plangger slope through beautiful meadows full of flowers and alpine herbs.
Barefoot trail & Shoe lift
Explore nature barefoot - the barefoot trail starts at the large playground on the Owl trail and leads 15 minutes through the Fendler mountain forest over meadows, cones and soft forest floor. At the end of the day, you have the opportunity to refresh your feet in the Kneipp facility.
What about the shoes? These can be easily 'cranked up' with the 'Patschenlift'.
Mountain carts
The popular winter toboggan run is converted into a fast mountain cart route in summer. There's no stopping it! The 4.5 km long drive offers action and fun for the whole family. The mountain carts and helmets can be rented directly at the Sattelklause mountain station.

Puzzle trail - Bibi and Kauni in search of gemstones
Go on a gemstone hunt together with Bibi & Kauni on the Summer Mountain Fendels. Solve the riddle by answering 7 questions along the Owl Trail and collect a gemstone for every correct answer. At the end, you will receive a certificate and your own gemstone at the Sattelklause mountain restaurant.
Pick up the puzzle directly at the lift ticket offices or at the Sattelklause restaurant.
Hiking trails
In Fendels, families can enjoy much more than a wonderful panoramic view of the Tyrolean Oberland! From easy to moderately difficult hikes, Fendels, as one of the smallest municipalities in Tyrol, offers a multitude of hiking opportunities.
Here are some hiking tips that start at the Sattelklause mountain station:

Wildbach Trail
The Wildbach Trail from Fendels to Ried is an absolute highlight for all bike fans. You cross a 30 metre long suspension bridge over the gorge of the Fendler Bach to Ried.
Facts and infos Wildbach Trail:
- Length: 3.4 km
- Length of the bridge: 30 m
- Difference in altitude: approx. 480 m
- Difficulty: S3 (difficult)
- Rental: the trail bikes are available at the valley station of the Ried-Fendels mountain railways or in the center of Ried in the Burtscher sports shop.

Directly at the valley station of the Fendels mountain railway (four-seater chairlift) you can experience different aspects of the water, sometimes up close, on the accesible natural playground 'Bach am Moos'.
