Aifneralm

The tour starts at the town hall in Kauns and heads towards Prutz. Turn right after the “WILIBU” shop, turn left at the next junction, then keep right and follow the Auchtweg to the hamlet of Goldegg. Alternating between tarmac and gravel surfaces, the winding route winds its way through further hamlets to the main road. After crossing the main road, pass the Falpaus chapel on your right; after about 1 km, turn left first and then right shortly afterwards. On a forest track (a short stop at the Schnadigen Weiher is possible after about 0.5 km), the route winds its way up through numerous hairpin bends, alternating between meadows and sparse woodland, to the Aifneralm. A particular highlight is the Knottenkino at the Aifnerstein – a 5-minute walk from the alpine pasture. The return journey follows the same route.
