Tour Tips Book - a hiking guide with 'added value'
From the dry, sun-drenched slopes right up to the glaciated peaks and cirques lies a charming hiking area offering a wide variety of routes. But this idyll is crumbling: the landscape shaped by the ice ages is being altered by advancing climate change. And not all the consequences of rising temperatures are as clearly visible as glacier melt or periods of drought.
Hikers and mountaineers already have to do more than just check the weather forecast when planning their trips; they must also take into account the effects of climate change. The Climate Guide therefore takes a forward-looking approach: in addition to suggested routes at all levels of difficulty, it includes useful information on the specific climatic conditions in the Kaunertal. Facts and figures, details of the best activities on offer and practical advice on route selection combine to create a 'hiking guide with added value'. The guidebook is available, together with the hiking map, from the Kaunertal tourist information office.
The virtual tour filter - a handy tool
Hot today, thunderstorms tomorrow, rain the day after: sometimes it’s not that easy to find the right hike for the forecast weather. A specially developed web application offers straightforward planning assistance via smartphone. Based on the parameters 'weather' and 'type of hike', it filters out suitable hiking recommendations - for a safe, relaxing time in the mountains of the Kaunertal.

Select the weather forecast for today, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. You can do this simply by swiping right or left. If you change the date, the suggested routes will update accordingly.
Select one of the five categories from the drop-down menu to refine the results.
All results displayed correspond to the weather forecast and your chosen category. They use the same colour scheme as the tour tips in the book. Thanks to the page references, you can quickly look up detailed information about the hikes in the guide.
