Partners & cooperations
Sustainable partners & regional producers
In the Kaunertal, authenticity and sustainability go hand in hand. The region is dedicated to gentle tourism and sustainable development, protecting its unique landscape and rich biodiversity for generations to come. But it goes beyond environmental protection - it is equally about preserving local culture and traditions. Regional products and materials are at the heart of everyday life, strengthening the local economy and conserving valuable resources. We are committed to working with sustainable partners, and together with local associations and the community, sustainability is increasingly woven into every event and activity.
Cooperations & Partners
Tirol Shop
What it says on the tin is what you get - and with the Tirol Shop, that means Tyrol through and through! For many years, the Tirol Shop has embraced the mission of sustainability and resource conservation. Through our partnership with the Tirol Shop for our staff clothing, we are making a meaningful contribution to both the environment and the raising of awareness.
Cooperation with Mammut
Our outdoor staff clothing is provided by a partner that shares our values: Mammut. With sustainability at the core of everything they do, Mammut is committed to achieving 'NET ZERO' - net zero emissions - by 2050.
Events
Green Event TRT
From 04–08 July 2023, the region hosted its very first Terra Reatica Trail event — 5 races, 5 experience zones, 5 unforgettable days of running. A proud milestone, and one recognised by Green Events Tirol with a basic 'Green Event' certification.
Kaunertal Bike Day
In May 2023, local associations joined forces to host the first ever Kaunertal Bike Day. Cyclists of all ages took to the valley on their bikes, exploring the Kaunertal in a thoroughly sustainable way and enjoying a wide-ranging supporting programme.
Village Life
Family-friendly communities
The Nature Park communities of Kaunertal, Kauns & Kaunerberg are among the family-friendly destinations.
Annual village clean-up in all regional municipalities
The nature park villages of Kaunertal, Kauns & Kaunerberg come together each year for the 'Klaub auf' day - raising awareness of the region's precious natural environment while residents collect up to several tonnes of litter.
Family flea markets & plant exchange markets
In the various places in the Kaunertal, flea markets, plant markets, and swap markets are held regularly. The sustainable awareness of the population is strengthened by these many small actions.
Regional producers
By choosing regional products and materials, locals actively strengthen the local economy while conserving valuable resources. The result: visitors get to experience a genuinely unspoilt and natural environment, while both the local community and the surrounding nature are preserved for the future.
‘Braunelle’ – the dark bee
Reintroduction of an old Tyrolean bee species
For centuries, the Dark Bee was found throughout central and northern Europe and is considered the original form of the honey bee. In the Kaunertal, a dedicated nature reserve has been established for this species. The beekeepers of the valley have made it their mission to preserve this remarkable bee. The high-quality 'Braunelle' honey from the Kaunertal nature reserve is available from local beekeepers, as well as at the Kaunergrat Nature Park Museum and the tourist information office in Feichten.
