The Valley Cross

Attraction

The Valley Cross at the Ögghöfen at 1,445 m above sea level, has a height of 9 m and 6 m width. The sculptor Robert Ehartsen from Flirsch carved the 5 metre body of Christ. The benefactor was Helmut Seykora from Kaunertal, son of Emma Seykora, nee Ragg, marksmen’s flag patron in 1904. The cross dedication service had as its theme “Protection and help in times of danger for the whole population of the valley” hence the name “Valley Cross”.
