WINTER SPORTS WITHOUT IF AND BUTohne wenn und Aber

A Tyrolean winter without restrictions

Kaunertal mountain freedom attracts new guests even in winter

That is probably unique!

The Nature Park & Glacier Region Kaunertal is accessible barrier-free up to 3,108 meters above sea level! The Kaunertal Glacier Panoramic Road and the cable cars open up the high alpine mountains in the home of Austria's largest capricorn colony.

Even in the valley, there are almost no stumbling blocks or obstacles thanks to a multi-award-winning lighthouse project. This benefits tourists with physical disabilities as well as families with small children.

Accessible adventures in the heart of the Alps

The Kaunertal is one of Austria’s most accessible winter sports regions. Here you can experience the freedom of the mountains without barriers – an authentic, nature-led experience suitable for all age groups. The Kaunertal nature park and glacier region is fully accessible right up to 3,108 metres above sea level! The Kaunertal Glacier Panorama Road and the mountain railways open up the high-alpine mountain world in the home of Austria’s largest ibex colony. From accessible car parks and wheelchair-accessible ski buses to facilities designed for people with disabilities: the well-thought-out infrastructure ensures a hassle-free winter sports experience right from the start.

 Barrier-free skiing

The Kaunertal has been honored several times since 2013 as a winner in terms of accessibility. With the EDEN Award (European Destinations of Excellence), the Tirol Touristica Prize and the title TOP 5 Alpendestination at theALPS Award.

The Kaunertal Glacier in Tyrol is the perfect location for anyone who, despite physical limitations, does not want to give up on piste action. Even the comfortable journey on the Kaunertal Glacier Panorama Road offers some advantages over other ski areas: a wonderful mountain panorama and flexible arrival times make a day's skiing on the glacier perfect right from the start. Parking is available directly on the slopes for mono-skiers and those with disabilities. Incidentally, the Kaunertal Glacier is a monoski area awarded its own courses by the state of Tyrol! All lifts are reachable at ground level. Trained staff with many years of experience is always on hand to help. With the Karlesjochbahn, wheelchair guests can easily reach the viewing platform at 3,108 m above sea level.

The restaurant Weissee is comfortably accessible by lift, a generous free-flow area and wheelchair-accessible toilets are also available.

Professionals have also discovered the Kaunertal Glacier as a training area and regularly train here for their competitions.
