Glittering snow crystals enchant the world

The Harbe winter hiking trail in the Kaunergrat Nature Park

Snowy meadows, crystal clear air, deep silence: enjoy untouched nature on a long winter hike. This trail takes you to the picturesque Harbe meadows in the Kaunergrat Nature Park. The whole route treats you to the sunny side of the valley, but please make sure to keep to the 5.6 km winter hiking trail. Many forest animals call the park their home and staying on the trail help ensure they can enjoy the enchanting landscape undisturbed. You might even catch sight of a deer or two! Feel free to bring your dog along - we just ask that you keep them on a lead throughout.

From the Gogles Alm to the toboggan run

Every great winter holiday deserves a proper toboggan run — and the Kaunergrat Nature Park delivers. Set off from Gogles Alm after a rewarding 1.5 to 2-hour climb of 450 m, refuel with a well-deserved refreshment, and then let gravity do the rest on a perfectly groomed 5 km run down into the valley. Toboggans available to rent from Hüttenwirt Joachim.

Good to know: in winter, a bus runs to the Kaunergrat Nature Park Museum. Find out what else makes the Kaunertal so special in winter, especially for families! We can already tell you this much: the glacier ski resort and a wide range of Christmas activities are just two of many highlights.
