The ALPS Awards 2013 were presented as part of the pan-Alps tourism event theALPS 2013 from the 19th to the 20th of September 2013 in Chamonix. The decision of the jury was awaited with great excitement, but the five finalists chosen by the international jury were already winners.
30 applicants from the AlpNet partner regions of Graubünden, Rhône-Alpes, South Tirol, Tirol, Trentino und Wallis submitted their projects. “Summer Attractions on the Mountain” is the theme at the third ALPS Awards. The best and most successful Alpine product innovations in the sense of mountain tourist attractions were sought out and celebrated.
The ALPS award was presented on behalf of the AlpNet Association to promote Alpine tourism under the academic guidance of MCI Tourism Innsbruck.
The aim of the ALPS awards is to provide a stage for an outstanding, existing, successful tourist service in the European Alps within the annual trade event theALPS. “These outstanding projects reflect the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurial strength of leading regions and entrepreneurs in Alpine tourism. They act as an example and inspire locals and visitors alike” is how Professor Hubert Siller from MCI Tourism Innsbruck explains the underlying idea behind theALPS Awards.
